I agree that some 3rd party multiplatform games (GTA, COD and Destiny, ) are bigger system sellers today than many exclusives. But if the majority of the games in OP had remained exclusive to the Xbox consoles, I think that would've done a huge difference.

When the high profile exclusives start releasing (Uncharted 4, Gran Turismo 7, Gears of War 4, Halo 6, The Last of Us 2, God of War 4 and Horizon) they will still sell quite a lot of hardware.

 

You don't think XB1's sales will dive at all if all of its exclusives release on PC day 1?

 

Huh? Of course exclusvies matter but they are only a part of the equation, not the only factor. Whether such a difference would be huge or not, we will never know. I tend to believe "not so big".
