It wouldn't be a bad thing. What would happen is games would be more like pc games. For example Rise of Tomb Raider would run at 1080p/30fps on the ps4 but the same game would run at 1080p/60fps on the ps4.5. In other words a games quality would depend upon the hardware you are using. But nothing is stopping ps4 owners from enjoying that same game. PS4.5 just get boosted graphics and performance.

Its quite possible that they will do this. It kind of makes sense.

Many, many people have explained that it would not work like this unless developered put substantial amounts of work reprogramming their engines and games to allow them to do so. This time, money and effort would be for a 0% gain in sales.

It is the same reason that only one game on the New 3DS actually takes advantage of the New 3DS's hardware properly. That game is also developed and published by Nintendo themselves, and is not backwards compatible with older 3DSs. Even though the new 3DS has improved hardware specifications, other non-optimized games do not run at higher frame rates, or have better graphical fidelity. That's because developers would have to program their games to accomodate for these extra hardware specifications and it is not worth the effort.

So please, go ahead and explain why developers would treat the PS4.5 differently than the new 3DS.
