As for the cable, go look at any prototype or dev kit controllers from previous consoles.  Look at they cables they use for all of them and then look at this one.

 

 

They're the cables of their respective controllers...so?

And I don't have anything shaped like that in my house. Except perhaps for some lightbulbes, but no way I'm unscrewing those!
