You're arguing that they have to launch with 3D Mario in order to have an impact when the fact is it's not the launch that's the main issue and 3DS shows you that. You must be dreaming or have a short memory if you think 3DS only had 3 problems as for a start many consumers thought 3DS was just a DS sku that had a 3D screen because of the name, 3DS had the same problems only Nintendo actually made an effort to save it. I'm not ignoring the time of launch you're ignoring the fundamental problem of Nintendo's platforms which has always been the long haul, a big bang means nothing if it fizzles out with in months this is why they can't fire their cards all at once and need a balanced long term approach, LM and Zelda would be a good balance with one of the most anticipated titles launching with a notable title show casing the platform. 360 arrived in the middle of a gen during a popular PS2 and did fine and funny enough the 360's launch offering was average at best it's what came after that drove it and that's what I'm pointing out to you that it's no longer about just launch. |
I already said several times Wii U had weak launch and 1st year lineup, so I agree that big bang doesnt means much without strong whole 1st year. You assuming that Zelda and 3D Mario are all cards they have and they will not have nothing after that, I assuming they will have good games to release after launch regardless Zelda and 3D Mario, I expecting great launch and 1st year lineup.
Xbox 360 arrived at end of one and at beginning of another generation, same like Wii U, not in middle of generation. NX will come in middle generation, exactly 3 years after PS4/X1 launch, in time of those consoles life when they are basically strongest.
