Weighing in: The character model seems fairly identical in quality apart from the hair which does seem improved from early builds. Any perceived loss in model detail is just from the darker lighting and water logged character (and much of it returns when you fullscreen the gif). Environment textures are clearly changed and have more of a photo look than a painted one, now. I actually thought the rocks and such in the debut gameplay demo looked great in hq feeds but I guess too many felt otherwise. Oh, and the inverse kinematics on his hands in that cave clip are glorious.
Apart from the halved frame rate compared to the engine teaser and the temporarily iffy hair in the first demo it's been a nice and consistent development cycle with slight upgrades along the way, as it should be. Now if we could just get idiots to stop comparing cutscene assets to gameplay assets and crying downgrade...
