If you need a new TV anyway because your old one is broken or something, it makes sense to go for 4K now.
If your old TV is doing fine, there is no need for an upgrade. Full HD will be quite ok for another 10 years at the very least. At least that's what I'm doing. As long as my 5 year old LG TV is holding up, I'm not even thinking about getting a new one.
