I don't think you enjoyment or surprise is going to be greater than someone who is seeing the media before.

 

Honestly I think most ppl will forget when they cold to playing. It's 2 different experiences, and one involved consuming the media in a disconnected way while the other is done as intended by actual playing of the hand.

I suppose it could be different for everyone.

I just sorta miss the days where I knew almost nothing about a game until it was released, and when I played a new game while knowing almost nothing about made it so much more exciting to the point that I recall those memories almost perfectly to this day.

With how media is, exposing new things much more often before it's released, that magic is sort of gone. So trying to relive those past moments is kind of nice, at last for me.
