I like it.

Obviously there'd be changes to the design. It's missing social media icons, the proportions would need to be reworked, the third sales box would probably be for latest charts, and we'd need to use the current logo, etc. But in general it's a layout I'd prefer over the current one.

I particularly like having the menu options clearly accessible down the side with the VGC Buddy, a bit more focus on articles, and a Supporter tab. It's also not a drastic change but is an improvement, and I agree with Spurge that is where a lot of site revamps go wrong - they change too much and try to make the redesign too flashy and completely different, which ends up alienating people.

Software and hardware charts are not the same length so that would mean that the software chart would have to be smaller or show less than 10 results to make it fit with the hardware charts?

Integrating the VGC buddy into the drop down menu seems like a neat idea but I don't use the buddy since I can never see it anyways :p

Also, will clicking on your profile icon have a drop down menu as well, or will it all be moved to the right side?

Can't you zoom out to allow the Buddy to fully show? I just use Ctrl + backwards scroll on my mouse if I'm ever using a PC where it gets cut off.

 

I could but it's really annoying since I use a laptop and have to use the trackpad to scroll rather than a wheel (hard to get it back to the right magnification afterwards too)

I just check My Topics to see if there are responses rather than the buddy, as I have no use for it :p
