That bundle may be sold out, but there are other SKUs. The regular black N3DSXL was on the charts for a good while last month, but even it's AWOL. The 3DS in general got a good boost with Pokemon and Fire Emblem, but now it's dead again on the charts.

 

Oh, I thought that you were referring just to the pokemon anniversary bundle.

Well, new 3ds xl was discounted by 25$ (in the whole time interval, that you mentioned), when it was perfoming well on amazon rankings, this has ended... ( this situation signalizes that  it needs an official price drop)
