In my opinion, Garfield was a GREAT Spider-Man in two horribly written Spider-Man movies.

Another unpopular opinion of mine:  Christian Bale was a terrible Batman in some really good (and at times, great) Batman movies.

 

Don't agree with your first opinion but I feel the same way about Bale, his batman wasn't very good.
