You don't need the Wheel to play MK, or the GC or Classic Controller to play Brawl.

You are exactly right there my friend...

But I have yet to meet a person who liked the game using the Wiimote on smash.

And MK-wii sucks without the Wheel.

Well, then I'd say you haven't met many people who play Brawl.  I exclusively use the Wiimote+nunchuck for the game and am not alone.  This past weekend there was a Brawl tournament on my university's campus and fortunately for me I wasn't the only one.  I see little advantage to using the Gamecube controller for Brawl and the Wiimote+nunchuck makes up for it in comfort (I can rest my hands on my lap with them apart).

As for Mario Kart Wii, while I agree the Wheel is the best way to play it isn't the only way and some prefer the Gamecube controller.

To each his own, but I've never felt the need to bust out one of my Gamecube controllers or to purchase a classic controller.
