The main reason is that my best friends and family got the same console. Exclusives were a bigger part upon launch but these days I mostly play Destiny and the exclusives I thought would be great, I don't really care for (in comparison to Destiny). But I have a bunch of friends that are hardcore into Destiny and it's really fun to play with them.
Lesser reasons include I was already invested in, the ecosystem of the console before it and I greatly prefer the controller
