Sounds to me like it was bonus content, it wouldn't be in the game without the Amiibo.
So the problem is Nintendo adding value to the amiibo with bonus content that is perceived to be a rip off?
It doesn't matter what bonus content they add with amiibo, there will always be someone that feels it's a rip off. I would hate to be the guy behind the scenes trying to decide what to add with Amiibo knowing that first day bonus content is mostly perceived as locked content especially if they add it to the disc.
