See, you own Gematsu an apologize!

Eh, I wouldn't go as far. They could have had the decency to provide a link to the Nintendo website, even if they chose to rewrite the news in their own words. It definitely doesn't hurt to provide a source for the information because the one in question did not come from the Direct video which they posted.

So... what I've postponed to say since yesterday is that locking content behind a toy isn't new to this generation because Skylanders is older than that, and in that IP it's omnipresent. amiibo is still harmless in comparison. And in this specific case that belongs to the most offending uses of amiibo, it should still be pretty easy to enjoy the game without the UFO ability.

Although I guess this is similar to all those censorship issues that have been going on lately, that we should be scared of the implications for the future. But amiibo has been around for about 1.5 years now and Nintendo had plenty of opportunities to abuse them, yet they did not in the majority of cases. And even the bad examples of amiibo usage are far from as bad as other things that we've seen this generation. This thread is classic overreaction.

Thanks GOD. Someone that thinks. I was losing faith.
