It's an issue of negative influence to other developers and of course the developers that are already doing them. It's simply about guaranteed sales from a winning formula..no matter how many times that winning formula is used and never evolved. It's kind of like cheating in a way, only other developers get hurt from trying new things. A lot of times people only like to buy what is guaranteed, and thus new ideas from developers are looked down upon often.
