There haven't been more innovations in TVs or cars in decades either. Nevertheless they weren't replaced yet.
The "end of smartphones" can only come if something better replaces it and all its tasks/features. There is nothing remotely versatile in the mobile sector to replace the smartphones on the horizon, so they will stay on the market for a while.
