Price is probably going to be a big factor, Nintendo usually tends to market itself to the younger/casual market, which are typically more price sensative. I would be very surprised if the machine was priced higher than the Next-gen twins.

I'd be surprised too. I think now it's possible to make a machine with a similar PS4/One power and make it cheaper, so I think that's what they're going to do. Maybe they can do a "Game Cube" again (with better results I hope xDDD), though that seems a bit too much.

I think they could surpass GameCube because of their tight dominance on the handheld-market and I hope that this hybrid-thing (if it is coming) can boost Nintendo to new prosperity. The new games that developers could realize on a hybrid-device would give them an advantage over their competitors and they don't need another gimmick this time. Maybe that is even the true realization of what they had in mind, when they gave the Gamecube the handle at the back 😆

Gamecube-like numbers at the console-side would be an up over Wii U, but if they just sell 30 million of these it won't become a main-device for them and we will see a new handheld-only-device.
