The whole point of the most popular genres of video games is to place yourself into a different role, a different universe, to experience a story. What better way to do this, then immersion? I mean why did 5.1 and 7.1 Surround sound take off... (which costs a hefty penny) and still has demand years later?

The paranoid argument about someone robbing you while you have a headset on is rediculous. There are MANY MANY MANY activities that people do that distract them from the apparent ever present threat of someone breaking in and kicking your dog. Raze tried to counter and claim that you would have your alarm system on -- but doesn't realize ... you can simply arm your alarm while you are "full diving" too.

Beyond gaming -- think about virtual reality porn when it takes off!

This is my take on it... I see it taking off 6 years from now...
