Waiting for Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the worst for me.
I remember back when I would check the Smash Dojo for updates, and whenever I saw a new character/stage, it made me want the game even more.
Seeing Sonic was amazing, but his inclusion caused the game to get delayed again.
Now that Brawl is out, it's my least favorite Smash game, and has aged poorly for me. 
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
