It really has been a staggeringly bad 5 year stretch for Nintendo. Unimaginable pretty much. 

With all that said, does it make the NX the most important/crucial launch ever for Nintendo?...Since the NES, have the stakes ever been so high?

If the NX fails to take off then we could have a Blackberry situation on our hands where revenues from traditional segments decline sharply whilst new segments are unable to offset the decline at all.
