I've been watching all of them. Only recently (the past year or so) have the Directs gotten less content-packed and more...Memey, but we've still had ones that had actual content to them. The Smash Directs, for example, always end up explaining everything in detail; the Directs in the last year have at least had SOMETHING new to them besides one or maybe two things, spread among quality details of revealed games.

Yeah this five minute trailer is better than XY's four minute trailer and 7 minute history lesson, but only slightly. I'd much rather they explain to a broader audience what the hell Pokken is instead of throwing it out to die, or what this Detective Pikachu is, or even tease other anniversary games than call this bona fide trailer its own Direct. I'm a fan of the whole series, not just mainline games - hell at this point the main series has gotten so stale that I'm only a fan at this point because of the spin-offs. It's gonna take lot to make this a Direct and not just a livestreamed reveal trailer, and I don't think they're gonna do that. It's a disappointment because Pokemon deserves better.

We can't say anything about how much we'll get out without seeing the direct first. Unlike Smash, Pokemon is an adventure game with story and things to be discovered so they shouldn't explain every little detail that way there's still stuff for you to find out as you play.

But again, we already know everything about Pokken, who you make sound like Nintendo hasn't been promoting which is extremely false, and Detective Pikachu is already out in Japan and we don't know if they even plan on bringing it to the west so talking about it in a Worldwide direct would be silly. Basically there isn't anything else worth talking about besides the new game.
