I don't need to educate you, I just need to point out that you're going to upgrade regardless, I was suggesting to at least maybe look into choosing a nice upgrade in the *future* than deciding to choose a stone tablet deliberately (like setting yourself up for another reason to talk this out again in another 5 years because you decided to choose the absolute weakest spec possible, some people out there actually do set their arguments up like that believe it or not). Still don't know why you mentioned the OS when you could have just said what you already said before in terms of just emulating old games, we already knew that. You may not see a substantial change in PC gaming but that doesn't change the fact that a lot has transpired in 15 years, an absolute lot has changed, especially for mobile phones, the internet etc. I too fiddle around with my ini files and modify my games when possible, I'm not the type that tinkers around with his hardware like some would, I make my build and tweak the games. Drivers I haven't needed to really mess with since over the years, drivers have become more simplified. I don't know why you compared a digital product to the physical one, one has a physical expiry date and the other doesn't really have a set defined expiry date (unless the world were to end tomorrow, then the date would be fully set out). Yes you can waste money all you want and food, but you can still get judged for it. I freely admit there have been some times where I have wasted some food but in those cases, I've learned to not buy as much food and only buy what I absolutely will eat within the week, that allows me to learn to better make use of my money and not waste food at the same time, that is me improving my decision making and finaicial skills in the process. |
In the end it comes down to personal preference. When you think that *to you* the way you decide to spend money on things is the right way to do so, that's absolutely fine. For you. Others choose other options and even have reasons for that. Perhaps that doesn't make sense for the one that lives perhaps completely different but what is there to argue about?
What exactly has changed in PC gaming, seriously? The internet happened? Yes, I can also play online with my console. And 15 years ago went to "LAN parties". Other than that and that Steam "happened", I can experience the same "evolution" also on a console, especially given that many games from consoles are also on PC or vice verse (at least the games I play).
Mobile phones? What's that to do with PC gaming?
I also don't know why you had to bring food into a discussion which is mainly about gaming and PC. I only wrote about wasting money, not wasting crucial ressources. And yes, people waste money for their gaming needs. Where they also waste money is off-topic and should be discussed in a separate thread, in a non-gaming category.
