The analysts are saying that this is Microsoft's last opportunity to pound its fist on its chest and say, "hey, we're ahead." Patcher even went so far as to say that Nintendo will surpass Microsoft in the US this month.
The thing is, Microsoft will always find something to brag about when there is nothing. This month, when the Wii passes Microsoft here in the US, Microsoft will suddenly say, "we're not competing with the Wii, we only count the PS3. And we're only interested in talking about US sales."
The 'silly logic' MS is using of, "the first to 10 million has always won" is the reason they rushed the 360 to the market. They used to say, "the first to launch has always won."
