so why failed the gamecube? Because of mini disc format ? :D
Why failed the N64? Because of Card Ridges?
There were also people who bought ps3 games for ps2. Or even xbox one games for xbox 360.. Its more on the wii bcause the wii was a big casual only machine (the only reason the system had success at all) and casuals didnt got it.
I didnt was much into gaming in 2011/2012 but it was very hard to dont see the news a new nintendo console is coming. It was everywhere in the media.
The only reason the wii was a success is because of the big casual market who wanted to play wii sports with their kids or whatever. You just backed this up with your last reply by saying those people didnt understand the wii u was a new system.
The nintendos only chances to get success it to aim at the casual market. And they DONT need zelda for that. They need something like wii sports, candy crush, whatever.
The Wii U´s userbase is probl divided into 50% Nintendo fans and 50% casuals/kids who want to play mario/their parents want them to play mario/mario kart and co).
With 12-13 mio sold consoles, this means that are at best at the moment 7mio people that are really hardcore interested in nintendo games. If nintendo want success, they need to get around 80% of their userbase from the casual market.Like I said before, Zelda wont help.
With NX btw they are already doing bigger mistakes then with wii u. Release mitcycle (where people didnt migrated to ps3/xbox 360, but to ps4 and this system will also be around for a while). IF its nots a casual machine, it will fail. If its a hardcore gamer machine (zelda would make sense) if will fail.
