It doesn't matter if it's a game or not. People are going to buy this and have fun with it.
More interestingly, WiiFit is getting coverage from many "non-gaming" news sites just because "It's not a 'traditional game,' but it's so fun, just like a game!"
There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
