The author of this thread has hugely overthought this issue. Everyone knows that Microsoft's intention with Windows 10 is to make it cross platform across all devices, - not to abandon a particular platform. This has been obvious ever since W10 was announced. Not sure what all the fuss is over TBH. I think some people may have way too much time on their hands or just way to anxious. Its quite clear to me that MS are integrating all their offerings as a future proof measure. Quite clever actually. Others are not even thinking this way ahead. Console Hardware will not last forever in any case and that is a fact. This ensures continuation of the perform when it becomes more a brand and just a service on other machines. Sony and Nintendo will have to do the same some day.
