I guess they feel it's going to be pretty frontloaded. They probably have a rough idea how much it will sale LTD from first day sales, 2x, 3x, 4x etc.
I suppose they don't expect any trackers to releases first day sales either, so they don't put themselves in a position where they have to respond to lower than expected first week/month sales etc. If they do beat it they can put out a press release based on internal data saying how they smashed expectations and sold over 1.x million, if not no-one will ever know what they sold day one.
