And ?,  Only because they make more Money, this means that any other division that can bring 1 Billion of US$, and Brand recognition, also raise the value of the Brand, and of the Company, is not worth taking ?.

Even if it makes money, it brings down profit margins. And I highly doubt MS is making $1bn from Xbox right now. I'm not even sure if Xbox is making more money than Nintendo... 

Basically its not worth the risk for MS to continue competing with playstation in a console industry that is dying. Without Xbox, MS could focus on something else.
