For some people scores and reception are important, and he was clear that he is disappointed to hear that there was negative reception on a game from a series which he esteems highly. And he mentions that to him this is not the first time he sees it.
Perhaps in his eyes this points to a degradation of quality of some sorts.
Is it valid? The question is, are the scores and the way they are set up valid. The question is, what would be the issue that would cause a lower score. In this case, the issue is a lack of content. That is a valid concern.
I have to admit that after going through the thread and realizing that people need to earn a good portion of characters League of Legends style after paying full price for a game, that's a legitimate concern.

I didn't say people weren't entitled to valid concerns. But, he was clear that his disappointment comes from the scores and not, necessarily, the game itself (the purpose of our discussion).

I don't disagree with you but this is a thread solely dedicated to Street Fighter V reviews here... Surely you must have expected people to talk about the scores.

You misunderstand me. I'm not saying people can't or shouldn't discuss reviews. I'm saying, as I say anywhere about this topic, that too often, it's the number that becomes the focal point, rather than the review itself. You said you were more disappointed in the score, but expect to enjoy the game. I have no major qualms with that. I just don't see the need to worry about a score when one plans to enjoy the game. That's all. :)

Ahh I understand now. I can agree with what you are saying for sure.
