There is actually something in the works along those lines. It's going to be more than just about removing the ads but it's part of it. Development is going along well and it should be ready in March.

Would you pay for it? Funny, I never had a problem with the ads before. Maybe it's because I only use this site on my PC. I never use the mobile version. @TruckOSaurus, I hope no currently-free feature will be moved to the premium version of the site? I don't mind paying for a suite of new features, but I'd be bummed if I can't access something I used to access before for free

God, please no! We already have less things that we used since several functions had to be disabled (I really miss being able to change the text format, font, size and color), we can't lose even more! .
