Eh, unfortunately this is the kind of failure that means it likely won't have a successor. Its lack of support tells me Sony is out of the mobile business.

Its a shame because I really like the Vita and I have a fairly large library of games for it.

Well i don't see them design and release an entirely new handheld system no. But the hardware of the PS4 is much more mainstream compared to previous playstation consoles, so it should scale down better. So there is a chance that they can downscale the hardware to mobile size in the future. A PS4 in handheld size with by then a huge library would be pretty interesting i think.
