No anti 2A nominees. Someone who isn't religious and who doesn't care what other consenting people do to and among themselves is fine by me.
Nominee can't just be not anti 2A they must be pro 2A and or will uphold status quo and Heller / precedent for 2A as an individual right. We do NOT need someone who thinks 2A is about duck hunting shotguns.
All my political effort is about 2A really. If I have to choose between 2A or something else, it's 2A every time.
My reason is that everything else can be worked around in private without anyone knowing.
-No gay marriage laws can't stop you from $@#$%#$% in your own bedroom.
-Anti-abortion laws can't stop you from not telling anyone you're preg and or going to Mexico to get one or "accidentally falling"
-Socialist policies and giving illegals free everything off my income can be worked around by tax deferring all my income into 401k and IRAs and withdrawing it later at a lower income bracket.
Difference with abortion, gay marriage, and everything else EXCEPT gun rights is that heavily armed paramilitary storm troopers aren't going to kick in your door and gun you down if you don’t comply as they would if they learned you had weapons that you weren't supposed to have anymore. That's why 2A is the most important political issue. The consequences of civil disobedience for gun rights supporters is far worse than anything gay rights and abortion protestors have to face. There are work arounds to nearly all other things except anti 2A laws that won't force you to have to take a stand in your own home and be killed if you don't comply.
If weapons are banned there’s no going back or getting around it and it will turn 100 million + people into waiting to be caught felons who can't be seen taking their personal property to and from their vehicles let alone being out somewhere and enjoying them recreationally without being found out and reported. However BATF isn't going to kick in your door at 2 AM for being gay. It's a whole different world between gun rights and everything else except for maybe the ridiculous "drug war".
If any door to door was attempted it would be the start of Civil War 2.0. Im pretty sure everybody knows this so it wouldn't come to that, and most law enforcement agencies wouldn't comply anyway.
But no confiscation isn't enough. I demand to retain my economic freedom to buy any type of gun I want, regardless of its ammo capacity, color, feed mechnism, etc. You won't placate me with "we only want to ban "assault" weapons", look where that left us with full auto weapons with a indirect ban we are still stuck with from before I was even born to have a say in it. No more chipping away.
