Cheers! Bookmarked that post (in a text file, web browser bookmarks are a mess haha)
I read a few suggestions for that laptop problem, will give it a try when the adapter acts up again.

I don't really have the space to put the laptop on a stand. I still have an old ps3 fan, installing that into the table would help :)
Ehh, maybe not. No drilling holes in the enameled table.

Electronics are made too cheap nowadays. My amp recently started shutting off when running it at full volume for a while, overheating. Never happened with the old one, yet that thing weighed 28 kg, mostly heatsinks. I guess my plan to go deaf early failed.

Holy... wait that can't be right, can it? 28kg of Amplifier? That's like, concert levels of power isn't it? I can't even imagine what your poor neighbours would do... I'm guessing move out lol

I'm happily using one of these oldschool badboys still http://www.ebay.ie/itm/QED-A240-CD-SIGNAL-PATH-OPTIMISED-AMPLIFIER-Amp-Hifi-Separate-/131727086409?hash=item1eab8bd349:g:zX8AAOSwQYZWv1nX I got it maybe.... 15 years ago and I said then that I would use it until it broke, it's on for around 5-10 hours each day, still not so much as a hum from it's psu, just built to last like you said.

As for the fan plate under your laptop, there are a lot of different types of them, some would only raise it up a matter of less than 1inch to get some breathing air underneath it, just take a look at the ones on Ebay see if any would fit without taking up too much space for ya, especially if heat is becoming an issue and stopping you enjoy your games.
