UN Challenging Japan’s Treatment of Women, Suggests Ban of Erotic Japanese Games

I'm assuming their reasoning is that this type of media can cause real life discrimination or violence against women? It would be an interesting study for sure but I personally have no idea if there is a correlation or causation involved. Especially, since Weincom pointed out above, since Japan's rape rate is so low compared to many other countries. Is this the right issue to be targeting?
My only concern would be if this type of game and anime held a monopoly over the market. This is not the case though - I will always have my Naruto and Final Fantasy
