The PC has infinite potential as a gaming platform, there are so many titles, the world's biggest backlog, possibilities for emulators, connection of all kinds of devices and accessories and complete control and customization on hardware, you can build a machine tailor made for you and not mass produced to somebody else's specs and wishes.
In short; I get exactly what I want in exactly the way I want it.

And then there are mods, creative tools and every odd developer making old school tribute games like Pillars of Eternity. I still don't own any 8th gen consoles and I only bought around 15 console games for the entire 7th gen (versus well over 100 in the 6th gen) and I'm finding it harder and harder to be persuaded into buying consoles.

I can how and why consoles are popular though, I used to love it as well, I guess both me and the industry changed over the years.
