 I dust mine a ton, but I have it lying down flat. I'd imagine it will be fine though, because I have it resting on the top of my entertainment center with nothing above it or to the sides. 

 if you want to make sure, get a USB powered Antec Laptop Cooler. it will drop the temp of the PS3 by at least 20 degrees.
