I wonder if the strong Wii U sales over the holidays in Japan caught Nintendo off guard, or their suppliers are just incompetent. Either way, there is no excuse for Wii U stock shortages and it never should have got to this stage.
On a more positive note, Ultra Smash has sold quite well all things considered and Splatoon continues to amaze.
