I agree with you about Samus physical appearence. It was designed to be this

Not this

I don't agree with you about her story and the Metroid universe itself though. Mainly because there are no signs of what the Metroid universe was like back in the 80's - 90's. Sure, some aspects of the original game itself were inspired by Alien, but I never felt like the Metroid universe was retro-futuristic. Hell, I wouldn't even dare to qualify the universe of the old Metroid games because of how little we saw about that. Therefore, I'm not uncomfortable with the "neo-futurtistic" style it has now.

As for the character of Samus, I have zero problems with anything we have seen so far (except for the manga, but that has more to do with it being very poorly written instead of depiting something I don't like).

There was in Super and in Return of Samus. You can see the retro-futuristic computors with the big, green, blocky fonts on them. It's etched into the design of the ship architecture. You can here it in the sound design of the ship/research facility in the beginning. You can see it in the way Samus is dressed in both Return and Super. It's in the way the HUD and menus are designed. It's incredebly imperceptive to say there were no signs of what the Metroid universe were back then.

Samus in Fusion, Zero Mission, and Other M draw their characterization directly from that manga. It's the same canon. You may not have a problem with poorly written garble. Most people do.

There's not actually. Two computers and a ship say very little about a universe. And by the way, those elements are not "retro-futuristic" per se, especially Samus suit and ship and the facility design. You have a point on the computers, but then again, we see almost nothing about the elements which compose this universe in Super, RoS or the original. The HUD and the menus hardly matter, first because they show something that hardly matter in this regard, and second because they, just like the suit and the ship are not that objectively retro. They just look random design to me (in the sense that the HUD does not have any intention of showing us a direct connection with the universe. It fits the art style, but art style ≠ universe style, although they can.

I know about the manga. As I said, I don't have a problem with the character of Samus depicted in the manga, Zero Mission, Fusion and Other M. I just think the manga is not a good manga.

And for someone who has that opinion thing on the signature, you defend your opinions with such strenght that one would think you don't respect other's opinions.

I'm done here.
