Metroid prime for me is the most memorable but from a technical standpoint metroid prime 3 corruption does alot of thing's better and is probably the pinnacle of the series. I'd still go with prime 1 though because it was so fresh and had such a big impact on me the first time i played it, something that prime 3 could never have, with it being the third game.
Aithough the weakest of the prime games i rate metroid prime 2 echoes very highly, it was definately the most atmospheric and had the most amazing soundtrack. Prime 2 would have probably been my favourite metroid game if it were not for the incredibly bland dark ether.
