Let's be honest,  you o ly like Melee cuz LoZ was 20% of the roster xD

No, I liked because it was a better game. It has better mechanics, a better single player, better art style, better stage design.

I also liked SSB N64 and the only Zelda character is Link. Yet I still enjoyed playing with all of the few characters in the game. The new game is boring because it's full of unknown characters that are also clones.

that's not a good excuse even before DLC. With a 49 man roster, there were 13 newcomers, which isn't bad, and only 4 clones (if you include Ganondorf), in which Lucina, Dark Pit, and Dr. Mario were confirmed to be developed like bonus characters in a way due to the game being almost complete and not enough time to develop characters with completely different movesets. In Melee, we had five clones in a 23 man roster, which is bad proportionately compared to Smash 4.

Lucas, and Roy were added as DLC because of fan requests and they were not able to make the initial roster on time or were not considered until requests were made. Then, you got Ryu, Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta. Four completely new characters with movesets unlike any other. Sure they've had some influence from other moves in the game, but you can't play them the same way as other fighters. I mean, you'd have a hard time convincing me on how Corrin plays similar to Marth, Lucina, and Roy.

And speaking of Fire Emblem, this was probably their best chance of getting more reps due to the revival of the franchise starting with Awakening. Plus, Sakurai is a fan of the franchise and was actually supported by the team to include Corrin when he initially hesitated due to potential backlash. Sure you can question it, but that's the way it is.

What's wrong with unknown characters? It's great to see new blood like Palutena, Rosalina, Bowser Jr., Shulk, Little Mac, Greninja, Corrin, and Robin take the mantle as newcomers of the franchise. You want more franchises represented? You got it. Animal Crossing, Wii Fit, Punch Out!, Kid Icarus, Xenoblade, and even Duck Hunt are now represented (or given more reps). It shows how this particular roster illustrates Nintendo's past, present, and future (even though Cloud has not been in a big main game on a Nintendo console). Plus, when will you ever see Cloud, Ryu, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Sonic, and Mario together ever again?? It's like the Beatles with Elvis and Michael Jackson on tour! Sakurai said this was character driven game and it shows. Complain all you want about the content outside of the roster and all, but you can't deny how most of the characters are unique in their own way.

sorry this feels long-winded, but hopefully I made my point. As you can tell, I'm passionate about the franchise and I appreciate what Smash 4 has done.
