Depends on the product, if they utilize the same software such as both are completely digital plats or both use cartridges then no they aren't cannibalizing each other. Ps3 and vita played different games.

I am in agreement that they haddifferent games, but some games were available on both platforms. Sony did this to remedy a lack of support for the platform by consciously gauging how they use their resources. The fact that they used new IP's for the multiplatform venture I think it hurt more than helped their caused. They should've just hired more third party if they couldn't internally handle the development.
