As for Peter Pan, the portrayal of the native americans is racially stereotypical, and I think this is what would get Disney in trouble if they released it now.  I was rather embarrassed when I showed it to my kids.  Just like you, since I hadn't seen it in a while, my memories of it were good.

Right, different times and attitude. The book was writen in 1911, although I haven't read it so don't know how they are portrayed in the book (or seen the non-panto version of the play). This said the wiki page says 'in recent times', which is fair, yet Hook would see them as savages and call them inappropriate names because of who he is. I generally don't see this stereotype as bad, it's just a stereotype, they are generally considered good in the film.
