It would be arrogant to think there wasn't any other creatures out there in space. It would be like taking a grain of sand from the Sahara Desert, examining it under a microscope, finding one single celled creature and then proclaiming there was no other single celled creature on any grain of sand in all the deserts of the world.
Of course there's life out there. It would be dumb to assume otherwise.
