I'll give Uncharted the edge on charm, Naughty Dog is one of the most notable studios for story telling. Gameplay though... not as strong.

If anything, I think Uncharted would benefit from Tomb Raider's focus on exploration and more dynamic combat. You sound content with linear enviornments and gallery shooting with bullet sponge enemies, but I'd like to see Uncharted become more ambitious with something other than graphics.

I'm content with Uncharted doing what it's doing, while continuing to improve on what's already there - A Thief's End. Everything doesn't need wide open areas to be enjoyable and Uncharted certainly doesn't need to be more like Tomb Raider. If nothing esle, it is Uncharted that caused TR to completely change its tune.

Four games and only two are notable.

So 5 games and you want them all to be the same? Some people feel that's what's wrong with the modern gaming.

I'm going to be frank here, you can continue to minimize this this franchise all you want (or sing from a mountain top how much you prefer TR - though after a while, it will need to end).

Actually, you make a point I forgot to mention. I can appreciate Uncharted 1 because it was kinda ground breaking for that style of game. It took ideas from previous Tomb Raider titles (Legends and Anniversary included) and cover shooters like Gears of War, which basically lead to a more linear Tomb Raider with better gun play. That certainly inspired the Tomb Raider reboot, but Tomb Raider and ROTTR have frankly been more ambitious than any Uncharted game in gameplay. Hence, Uncharted 1 in my mind had great ideas but didn't but didn't live up to its potential.

In a nut shell you said you're happy with Uncharted being the same thing over and over again. If you're content with that, good on ya. I personally just hope Naughty Dog gives us more than your preference of lazy game design.
