But if they give us different tracks and experiences, why don't we? The graphics for the home console Mario Kart 9 is obviously going to be superior so why would we even need the handheld? It's a bit more complicated than "we don't need it".

Let's look at another series for example. A unified platform could also only result in one LoZ. Would you rather not have had A Link Between Worlds?

It's time to look at this from a big picture point of view and realize this unified software thing doesn't benefit those of us who buy both systems.

We already talke about it, and you agree with me, because some people don't like home consoles and prefer handhelds only, same like some people don't like handhelds and prefer home consoles, because handhelds and home consoles provide very different experiences even with same games.

There is no reason why wouldn't ALBW work on Wii U too, so we could easily have another top down Zelda on NX platform.

You don't know what exactly integration will handhelds and home console will have, and like I already wrote some games will be exclusive to handheld or home console, but majority will be on both devices.

I agreed they offer greatly different experiences, which is why it's important that two seperate consoles provides two seperate experiences. Why wouldn't ALBW work on a home console? Because most home console owners simply aren't looking for that experience. They want the Zelda U type experience.

And no, I don't believe the same game provides a different experience on separate consoles, at least to the extent of making anyone excited enough to buy the other console for it.

It's like saying "Here's the successor to the 3DS. It's a new handheld that will offer far fewer unique experiences than the 3DS." Pretty bad business decision being I'm fairly certain most Nintendo home console owners also have their handheld. Why? Different experiences.
