The mailman brings your packages in your living room so you don't have to leave the couch? Convenient and creepy at the same time ;)

I'm not amused with the joke.

The is the issue of switching discs if you want to switch the game. No problem in most cases, but if you can't walk or leave the bed (disabled people) or if you are playing via remote play in another room/floor/house/town/country, it gets problematic.

So now you're brining up other problems. What about the people who have carpel tunnel etc. Were would this type of argument end? If you're disabled, you have help with a lot of things, in the first place.

If the HDD or flash memory of your 360/PS3/WiiU/XBO/PS4/PC gets damaged, you are fucked anyway, no matter if you play digital or physical games. Without a proper working OS, you can't play anymore.

And your point? The console broke, you replace/repair it. Same problem no matter what side you're on.

If the optical drive of your 360/PS3/WiiU/XBO/PS4/PC/PSP or the modul bay of your 3DS gets damaged, you can still play your digital games.

This problem is easier to fix by yourself. Or turning the console over to the company, for repairs. And that's pretty irresponseable to just leave the console damaged like that. You're basically saying you don't really care, if this happened. Just like I could say I don't care about unable to switch discs, when remote playing a game. Since I never use that function.

What is someone going to do if they get your password?  Log in and...buy more games?  They aren't going to be able to take games away from you.  I don't know of a service that lets you delete games from an account.

Steam lets you.

You reset the password on the account, dispute the charge with your credit card company, and your games stay intact.

And potentonally worry about Fraud.

Except no, because a broken HDD is a hardware issue that requires maintenance regardless of if you want to replace the game. A disc goes bad, you can decide you don't need that game, but you still have a working machine to play on. A harddrive goes bad, and you're out of luck until it gets replaced, regardless.

The HDD is still the medium you moved the game to. The console isn't dead. It still works. But now you have to pay for a new HDD. Just like, replacing the game. And are more inconvenciance, if you have to download 20 games. Plus, you gave a positive reason to physical media. My point is to show digital also has the same basic shortcomings. Regardless which one you prefer.

Peoples arguments are usually "I don't have space in my house for games." Saving on space will now be diverted to your time. By mangaging your games. What to download, and what to delete. Or you'll replace game boxes with a shelf of manually labeled HDD/SSD's. Because the size of games isn't staying the same. Everyone here will just change their bitching to: "Ah WTF! GTA 9 is 400GB! I can only fit 4 games. Now I gotta fucking delete shit." Virtually the same complaint to swapping discs, in a different form. Plus HDD waste. You'll buy that fancy new 8TB drive. And you'll be like. That 1TB is useless. Forcing you to toss it out. Or let it sit there. So paying for the games, online service, and now HDD's. The convenience factor starts to look very little.

These arguments also ignore possible new types of physical media, in the future. What about TB's SD card sized like media. That have zero chance of degradation. And ofcourse have no need for moving parts or scratch problems. The console now doens't need to be made bigger, for a disc. Shelving space is reduced. Plus, fast HDD like loading. And the card could have a patch/DLC save memory decidated area.  Just ideas to

"And your point? The console broke, you replace/repair it. Same problem no matter what side you're on."

It's not a broken game. It's a broken console, like you said. They game is waiting for a free download once you face the obligation of fixing your console, which you would have to do regardless of whether or not you had digital or physical. Maybe next time you try to make a point, don't contradict yourself in the very same post?
