Well. They are not above that, is true, but that FE fates reference is not really all that fair. The third path of the game is very questionable, but it is not a full priced game. And for what I readed the 2 real games are completely different (even if they happen in the same story) and most important, every one of them is as long as FE Awakening. So you are buying 2 games because every game has enough content to be its own game, with 40 or 50 hours each one, however if you buy one, then you can get the second for half of the price, making it a 60$ game, the usual stuff we pay for homeconsole games, wich is not so out of place on what it seems the most ambitious 3DS game till date. The third path, again, is indeed questionable.

Well, I knew many people interpreted Nintendo's PR that way, but they only said "content". Not "new content". They're actually absolutely not completely different games, nor is every one of them as long as FE Awakening. Not in terms of new content, which is what's important here. It was obvious from the start that there would be a lot of repeated content, because the first 6 Chapters of each game is identical in each version. And since it takes place in the same story, it's obvious that we would see repeats of many battles, with just some different dialogue. But I wanted to know exactly how much, so I looked into it thoroughly.
Pokemon Gold has as much content as Pokemon Silver. But that's not an entierly new game. In fact it's about 99% identical to the other game.

Birthright and Conquest do not each have enough content to warrant two individual games by Awakening's standards. Instead they have a lot of repeated content. Maps, characters, story, etc. I've done research on this. I have even made charts to illustrate it better, and I'm going to make a topic about it soon because many people seem to have misinterpreted Nintendo's PR like you did.
I just want people to know what they're paying for before they buy it. I'm as big of a FE fan as anyone else, and I also want to play this game. And I will. But there are some choices we can make as consumers that are important to know.
Here's a sneak peek at a chart I made.

I can barely see that chart, very little.

For what I can see of it, it seems like I'm indeed wrong, but at the same time, one of them has almost as much content as awakening, and then the second one has half of it. But the second one cost you half of the money so it doesnt really seem so unjustified. Then there is the third path... no comments. I'm not very happy with tthe way they handled this game, and I have to try it to give a proper opinion but it doesnt seem like a terrible thing, I mean, 40$ for 40 hours of content (wich is the average duration of FE games) and another 20 -25h for 20 $ makes sense after all. Anyway I'm looking forward to see your thread about this question.
