I'd be worried if Nintendo does release the NX this year because I don't believe they've had nearly enough time to prepare a software lineup that will make that new console appealing to the general public.

With a unified platform that combines the software of the handheld & console, I think they would be fine.

EAD Group 1 has consistently released a new Mario Kart roughly every 3 years (DS-2005, Wii-2008, 3DS-2011, Wii U-2014) while also working on smaller projects (2005-Nintendogs, 2008-DSi Sound, 2011-Nintendogs+Cats, 2014/2015-MK8 DLC). A new Mario Kart for NX in Spring 2017 should be possible.

EAD Group 2 has pretty stellar output. 2005-Animal Crossing: Wild World, 2006-Wii Sports & Wii Play, 2008-Animal Crossing: City Folk & Wii Music, 2009-Wii Sports Resort, 2012-Animal Crossing: New Leaf & Nintendo Land, 2015-Splatoon & Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. They also worked on applications like Mii Channel, WaraWara Plaza & Animal Crossing Plaza while co-developing games like Star Fox Command & Wii Sports Club. I don't think it's too farfetched for them to have at least one NX game out by the end of 2017 with another title in 2018.

EAD Group 3 is currently developing The Legend of Zelda for Wii U but if NX does release this holiday than its very likely that it will be a cross-gen title just like Twilight Princess was. 2D Zelda releases every 2-4 years (Four Swords Adventures-2004, Phantom Hourglass-2007, Spirit Tracks-2009, Link Between Worlds-2013, Triforce Heroes-2015). I expect a new one in 2018.

EAD Group 4 is responsible for Pikmin & 2D Mario, Miyamoto recently said Pikmin 4 was nearing completion, it may be a late life Wii U game or perhaps a launch window title for NX. As for 2D Mario, it releases about every 3 years (NSMB-2006, NSMB Wii-2009, NSMB2/U-2012, Mario Maker-2015) so a new one probably won't release until 2018.

EAD Tokyo releases a console 3D Mario every 3 years (Galaxy 2007, Galaxy 2-2010, 3D World-2013) while releasing a smaller project in between (Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat NPC-2008, 3D Land-2011, Captain Toad-2014). A new 3D Mario for holiday 2016 or sometime in 2017 with a smaller project about a year later in plausible.

Game Freak releases a new Pokémon generation every 3-4 years (1996, 1999, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2013) along with 3rd versions/sequels/remakes releasing in between. Pokémon generation 7 in 2017 in very likely.

Retro Studios releases a new game a little over every 3 years (Prime 3-Aug 2007, DKC Returns-Nov 2010, Tropical Freeze-Feb 2014) so a new game from them in mid-2017 is likely.

ND Cube has a pretty high output of party games (Wii Party-Q3 2010, Mario Party 9-Q1 2011, Wii Party U & Mario Party: Island Tour-Q4 2013, Mario Party 10-Q1 2015, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival-Q4 2015. I think a new party game in 2017 is possible.

Hal Laboratories releases a new Kirby roughly every 2 years (Canvas Curse-2005, Squeak Squad-2007, Super Star Ultra-2008, Mass Attack & Return to Dreamland-2011, Triple Deluxe-2014, Rainbow Curse-2015. A new Kirby in 2017 or 2018 at the latest.

The majority of internal Nintendo teams & subsidiaries projects should be releasing between Holiday 2016-2018.
