First they named themselves Bros, then they became Nintendo. Slippery slope, people.

So they are more or less copying Nintendo?

Not comparable. I'd argue this as being more Sony-like.

Because Sony is known for threatening legal action through Youtube and implementing forced reseller deals?

No, because the Fine Brothers tried to trademark "x React" similar to Sony's attempt to trademark "Let's Play"

So? They never even got to a point to get it and as such they're doing no one any harm. Threatening youtubers with legal action and trying to trap them in sone shady scheme to make money off of them is more a Nintendo thing to do.

You're comparing something that Sony may or may not could've done with something that Nintendo is currently actively doing.

I didn't compare Sony and Nintendo, I compared Sony to Fine Brothers. Both Sony and Fine Brothers went after PHRASES "Let's Play" and "x React", respectively. Both these phrases have formed portions of various video titles throughout the internet before Sony and Fine Brothers tried to trademark them.

Nintendo is an asshole but at least they're going after videos that feature their IP, IP they paid to develop, IP that belongs to them. Sony and Fine Brothers went after literal phrases, phrases people are accustomed to using freely in their video titles.
