Great sales. 40$ for an indie puzzler was a gamble, but it seems that it payed off.

$40US is alot for an Indie game. I have gotten AAA games brand new(physical) for about the same on launch day. But I would much rather pay $40 for The Witness than another COD/AC/Destiny/Battlefield etc.

Totally agree. Lets hope that this will become the norm, and more indies will be able to afford this, and wont have to settle for sub 5$ price jut to be sure that their games sell. Not many indie games desevre 40$, but I have seen plenty weeks after release at 1$, that would have deserved even 20$. If the quality is there Im ready to pay the full price no matter if it is singleplayer only, or if it has sub-standard presentation.

Note: TW looks great, I am talking in general.

I'd gladly pay 20 bucks for indie games like Axiom Verge etc. if they were actually on a disc and not just files. That's my problem. If they're just going to be a file that is invisible and something that I can't hold in my hand/sit on my shelf, I won't buy it unless it's dirt cheap. And even then, I don't really end up playing them. My Steam account has Braid, Fez and Cave Story on it and each one has about 20 min of gameplay... and I've had them for years.

If these indies are going to start charging full price, they need to justify it with an actual physical product imo.
